US in Corinth, MS at age 28; mustered in 22 Dec 1863 in Corinth, MS and mustered out 17 Dec 1864 in Memphis, Shelby Co., TN. On 8 Jan 1858 he married Martha Bryan in Tishomingo Co., MS. Martha was born in Jun 1839 in Tishomingo Co., MS and died 7 Feb 1937. Children of Michael and Martha Bryan Shook were: Sarah Elizabeth, born 18 Oct 1858; Mary Caroline, 1860; John Henry, 09 Nov 1861; Anna L., April 1870; William Wells, 15 Jan 1874; Emila A., Jul 1875; and James Wiley, 02 Jan 1877, all born in Tishomingo Co., MS
Charles Noah and Michael Shook were the sons of Noah and Charity Dickenson Shook who were married 29 Apr 1824 in Blount Co., AL. Noah was born about 1803 in North Carolina and died in 1870 in Tishomingo Co., MS. Charity was born about 1809 in South Carolina and died 1870 in Tishomingo Co., MS. Noah was the son of George and Mary Shook. George was born 1758 in Williams Township, Northampton, Pennsylvania and died 10 Jul 1829 in Burke County, North Carolina. George was the son of George Schuk, born 1724 in Northampton, PA and died 1813 in Lyles Creek, Lincoln County, North Carolina. It is not known who his wife was. He was the son of Johannes George Schuck and Rosina Barbara Behard. Johannes was the immigrant ancestor and was born 1694 in Edelak, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany and died 29 Dec 1767 in Northampton, PA. Rosina was born 1695 in Palatinate, Germany and died 1746 in Williams Township, Northampton, Pennsylvania. They were married 1717 in Mosbach, Palatinate, Germany.
