Jonathan O Thompson
In 1840, Jonathan Obediah Thompson was living in Fayette Co., AL with a wife, son and daughter. At some time after that he lived around LaGrange, TN and by 1860, was living in Tippah Co., MS with eight children, all born in TN. His home was in Jonesborough, about 10 miles north of Ripley. He was discharged from the Army with a severe case of bronchitis. After the war he moved with his family to Illinois where they rented farms and did farm work for others. Around 1873 the family moved to Gainsville, Ozark Co., MO where he died January 21, 1904.
