Thomas T. Phillips was born in 1834 in Georgia. He married Helen Callisto Bowen, daughter of Samuel H. and Marcia Dearing Bowen, in Randolph Co., AL August 18, 1859 and had four children: Sarah Clementine, born June 25, 1860, Elizabeth K. Delphia, born November 2, 1861, William F., born April 16, 1863, and Samuel H. Phillips, born May 1, 1865.
