Notes: William Bowland and John Brooks were charged with the murder of Neal Morrison, a citizen of Tishimingo Co., MS, on or about 14 November 1863, near Camp Davies, MS. He deserted and was captured by a scouting party near Glendale, MS and returned on or about 18 November 1863. He was alleged to also be in Co. G, 44th Ilinois Infantry as William Bowlin.
