Notes: Testimony of T.A.J. Barren as published in the Nashville Daily Union in Nashville, TN on 4 March 1863 under "Reign of Terror in the South" stated, "I live in Marion County, Alabama. The rebels have burned my house with furniture, beds, bedding, clothing, and ect.; Also, three (3) bales of cotton, two hundred bushels of corn, fodder, etc. Sworn to and subscribed before me at glendale, MS, this 24th day of January, 1863 and signed by J.W. Stewart."
